Hello! I’m Michelle Windsor, the editor behind WindProof Editing. For more than twenty years, I have been teaching reading, English grammar, and writing—work that requires clarity, flexibility, patience, organization, and a deep understanding of learning styles. Oh, and did I mention patience? Lots of patience!
Those decades of hands-on teaching and mentoring writers—paired with formal training in professional proofreading and copyediting—shape the way I approach every project. WindProof Editing grew out of my love for language and my joy in guiding people to express their ideas with confidence.
I specialize in supporting indie authors, online content creators, ESL writers, and business professionals who want their writing to be clear, polished, and true to their voice. Whether you need a final proofread or deeper copyedit, I bring care, respect, and meticulous attention to detail. I’d be honored to help you bring your next piece of writing to life!

My goal is not to rewrite your work into something that sounds like someone else. I look for ways to strengthen and smooth your writing while preserving the tone, message, and personality that make it yours.
I provide edits and comments so you can review each suggestion before accepting it. Depending on your preference, I can edit your work using Microsoft Word Track Changes, Acrobat PDF comments, or Google Docs suggesting mode.
